How to check out a laptop or Chromebook:
- Log into LibApps with the student worker username and password: https://park.libapps.com/libapps/login.php
- Click on “LibCal”
- Click on “Equipment”
- Under “Booking Grid & Availability,” change the category to the correct device type and click “Go”
- Find the correct laptop or Chromebook number. Make sure that device doesn’t have any reservations in the near future
- Click today’s date (if the student is checking it out that day). The due date will automatically be filled in
- Click “Submit Times”
- Fill out the patron’s information: first name, last name, and email. If there’s anything about the checkout you’d like Anne to review, place it under “Internal Note”
- Click “Add Booking”
- A pop-up will appear confirming that the device has been reserved. If the student is checking it out that day, hit “Check out now” and they are good to go!
Remember: You MUST check out a device charger along with the Chromebook or laptop!! Follow the same steps, but switch the device category to “Device Chargers.” Chromebook charger numbers should correspond with the Chromebook number and are housed in the Chromebook cart. Laptop chargers are kept behind the circulation desk.
How to check in a laptop or Chromebook:
- Log into LibApps with the student worker username and password: https://park.libapps.com/libapps/login.php
- Click on “LibCal”
- Click on “Equipment”
- Click on the “Check In” tab
- Change the “Show Bookings” filter to “All Checked Out Items” and click “Go”
- Find the correct laptop or Chromebook number (AND corresponding charger!) and click the checkbox labeled “Check this item in.”
- Place the laptop or Chromebook (AND corresponding charger!) back in the cart (Chromebook chargers are stored in the cart along with the Chromebooks, laptop chargers are stored behind the information desk).
- If it’s a laptop, it MUST be wiped by IT before being placed back in the cart! Every time a laptop is returned, submit an IT ticket and Chad will come by and wipe it.
