Park College Literary Monthly

The Park College Record of January 10, 1885, announced the publication of a new student paper titled Park College Literary Monthly. The Literary Monthly was a joint endeavor by the Cheever and Park Societies. Each volume was multiple pages with a subscription price of fifty cents. The first issue was released in March 1885.

In addition to original writing by Park College students and faculty, the Literary Monthly included:

A monthly editorial,
"Local" - short notes on Park College happenings, and
"Exchanges," brief commentaries on events outside of Park College.

This publication also accepted advertising, offering us a fascinating peek into local commerce and society.
